More on The Better Futures Programme:

Led by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the Better Futures programme provides innovation support to London climate tech startups and SMEs. Sustainable Ventures delivers this programme alongside Imperial College London and West London Business.

​​Building on the legacy of the Better Futures Programme (previously funded by ERDF and Green New Deal funds), the programme will continue to offer business support to London’s vibrant community of Climate Tech SMEs through a number of offerings to startups at different stages of their growth journey. Through years of hands-on experience supporting SMEs, the programme has been proven to significantly improve the success rate of Climate Tech companies.

Better Futures will continue to promote and support innovation, sustainability and diversity within London’s Climate Tech sector. We aim to ensure equitable access to all entrepreneurs, as we recognise the significant structural barriers that still exist for SMEs led by women, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and disabled people in climate tech.

The strands:

Concept stage

Our Spark by Better Futures programme gives pre-seed startups full access to an expansive venture development knowledge base with tried and tested tools, discussion forums and 1-1 support. 

Venture stage

Startups in the process of validating their technology and/or business model can access specialist 1-1 support tailored towards the most significant challenges on this journey, from product development to financial planning.

Product development

CleanTech start-ups in the growth phase can access bespoke and tailored product development support on a specific product development project of your choice across product design, development, technical feasibility, etc.
